HOW WE KEEP THE RECORD

CATS, WITH SOURCES.

KYC documents cat culture and the token projects that use it. A meme, its creator, a token project, and a deployment on a particular chain are separate facts.

What our labels mean

  • Documented: the scope of the current file has supporting sources, a dated timeline, and no listed research gaps. New evidence can still change it.
  • Partial: useful evidence is filed, with outstanding questions shown.
  • Unresolved: the name, original reference, token, or a crucial connection remains uncertain.
  • Disputed: conflicting evidence needs resolution. We explain the conflict.
  • Address matched to project source: the exact identifier appears in a project’s material or a directly linked deployment source. This is not an audit.
  • Listed by market directory: an external directory associates this identifier with the name. Primary matching is outstanding.

Sources and corrections

We prefer creator posts, project documentation, and chain records for claims they can establish. Directory entries help discover candidates. Project marketing remains attributed, especially ownership, licensing, partnerships, and origin claims. We do not manufacture dates, biographies, portraits, or contracts to complete a card.

Editors save a draft, check its evidence, and publish it with a byline and revision note. A later rollback remains visible in the public change history. “KYC research desk” identifies catalogue research; it is not a claim of independent third-party review.

Original-roster entries preserve the user-supplied chain. A similar name on another chain is a separate project candidate until a link is sourced. Legacy addresses remain searchable and are excluded from default current market selection.

Discovery, selection, and sponsorship

Submitting and listing a cat in the registry is free. A sponsored feature is optional and never required to be listed.

Editorial selection is an explicitly curated introduction to the category. Alphabetical and market-cap sorts have their stated meanings. Market data has a source and retrieval time. Unknown values are shown as missing, never as zero.

Featured placement costs $100 USD worth of $KYC when post-launch payments are enabled. Paid cards are labeled Sponsored and stay separate from editorial selection and research updates. Payment does not change factual status, grant verification, raise organic ranking, or indicate endorsement, safety approval, or investment advice.

Artwork and permissions

Coin avatars should be recognizable to their communities. We check token artwork against the exact chain and contract, preserve its original colors and framing, and keep a source and review record. Original meme images and community artwork are identified separately. Decorative website graphics are not a substitute for a coin’s logo. Older and automatically imported images enter an artwork review queue.

Illustrations and portraits are credited to their source. An external image or a project’s licensing claim does not establish blanket reuse permission. Rights holders can submit ownership evidence and request a credit correction or removal through the contribution form.
